Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open iOS Settings → tap your Apple ID at the top → Subscriptions → Tova Translate → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of the current billing period.
You can also tap Manage in the Tova app's Settings screen — it deep-links to the same page.
Refunds for App Store purchases (including Tova subscriptions) are handled by Apple. Submit a refund request at reportaproblem.apple.com — sign in with your Apple ID, find the Tova purchase, and pick a reason. Apple typically responds within 48 hours.
We can't issue refunds directly because we never see the payment. If Apple denies your request and you believe it was in error, email us — we'll write to Apple on your behalf.
Open the Tova app → Settings → tap Restore Purchases. This re-syncs your entitlements with the App Store.
If that doesn't work:
Google Translate is blocked by the Great Firewall, so the default engine fails inside China without a VPN. Tova has two fallbacks built in:
If neither works, please email us with what you see — engine availability inside China changes regularly.
Pro users: Settings → Offline packs. Pick the languages you'll need before you fly, tap Download, and the packs install in the background.
On Android, on-device neural translation models (Google ML Kit) are ~30 MB each. On iOS, Apple Translation handles this automatically when you first translate to a supported language on Wi-Fi.
A few things to try:
iOS doesn't ship every voice pre-installed — some, like Thai and Vietnamese, are downloadable. If a voice is missing, Tova shows a snackbar telling you which language and where to find it: iOS Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices.
Once you download the voice there, restart Tova and the Listen button will work for that language.
Tova routes translation through Google, DeepL, OpenAI GPT-4o, or Baidu, depending on your selection. None of these is perfect. For technical or specialised content, try a different engine under Settings → Translation engine — DeepL is often best for European-language pairs, OpenAI handles tone and context well, and Baidu shines for Chinese.
Pro users can also pin preferred translations under Settings → Glossary so a word always renders the way you want it.
Tova is not a substitute for a professional translator for medical, legal, financial, or contractual material.
Open Tova → Settings → Feedback → Report a bug. The form auto-attaches your iOS version, app version, current language settings, and active engine, which helps us reproduce the issue. You'll get a confirmation email with a reference number.
For feature suggestions, use Settings → Feedback → Feature request or just email us.
Yes — an Android version is in active development as of Spring 2026. If you'd like to be notified when it's available on Google Play, email us and we'll add you to the launch list.
